Dr. Jean Christophe earned his Master of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in epidemiology and biostatistics from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Three years prior to coming to the US for the MPH program, he earned his Medical Degree from the National University of Rwanda. Dr. Rusatira also holds academic certificates in Public Health Economics and Global Tobacco Control from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. He has three years of clinical experience and eight years of public health experience in Sub-Saharan Africa. His research work ranges from health technology development to public health policy and practice. He was awarded the 120 Under 40: The new generation of family planning leaders award in 2016 and the World Health Organization-World No Tobacco Day award in 2013 and was selected as one of 25 global emerging research fellows of the World Heart Federation in 2016. Dr. Rusatira is a health advocate with a strong focus towards improving the quality of health through research, programs efficacy, efficiency and effective cooperation between global partners and local government. He is founder of the Healthy People Rwanda and co-founder of the International Youth Alliance for Family Planning.
