Darby is a dedicated Program Specialist and communications strategist with a passion for advancing global health and empowering communities. Driven by the belief that access to quality healthcare and information is a fundamental right, Darby joined Gates Institute in 2019 as a communications intern with Advance Family Planning. Upon completion of her B.A. in Communications and Writing with a specialization in PR and Advertising from Loyola University Maryland, Darby joined Gates Institute full-time as a member of the Anchor Grant team in 2020.

At Gates Institute, Darby fosters meaningful connections with global partners, governments, and stakeholders in family planning and sexual and reproductive health. In her role, she backstops various program activities across Gates Institute priority areas including advocacy, community-building, meaningful youth engagement, and leadership development.

As a member of the 2022 International Conference on Family Planning Secretariat, Darby supported conference communications efforts including branding, marketing, and promotion. She also led programming and production efforts for the ICFP2022 Plenary Stage.
